Biography
Sandro Gegechkori is one of the most outstanding representatives of the young generation of the
Georgian piano school. International recognition and success has come to him at a very early age,
having firmly established himself in the world-wide arena of classic music. Sandro is the winner of
several international competitions, such as Maria Canals International music competition (First Prize,
2021), Feurich Vienna International piano competition (Grand Prix, 2018), Arno Babajanyan
international piano competition (First Award, 2015). In the beginning of 2022, Sandro Gegechkori
became an artist of WFIMC (World Federation of international music competitions). He gives recitals
in various prestigious concert halls like the Royal Concertgebouw, Palau De La Musica, L’auditori,
Mozarthaus Vienna, etc.
Sandro Gegechkori cooperates with the world’s leading orchestras.
Sergei Rachmaninoff Museum under the director of Alexander Ermakov established the festival
named after Sandro Gegechkori – Междунароный фестиваль Сандро Гегечкори (Sandro
Gegechkori International Festival). Says Ermakov: ‘The high professionalism and performing skills –
Sandro Gegechkori has brilliantly proven Georgian piano school in his piano activities’. Being the
winner of the First Prize of MCB international music competition 2021, he has already scheduled all
his future solo and orchestral concerts. As a winner of MCB international piano competition, he has
already got the opportunity to record the compact disc at the world renowned Naxos CD platform.
Currently Sandro studies at The Tbilisi State Conservatoire BA program, enhancing his artistic skills at
the professor’s Alexander Garber’s class.
